Ombre Quilt Inspiration

20th Oct 2020

Ombré fabrics are my new favorite! In September, our Cotton Cuts Classic and Mini Pop boxes featured Inferno by Giucy Giuce (we have them available here in our shop). This month’s Classic and Mini Pop boxes featured Ombre Fairy dust by V and Co.

As soon as I got my Inferno fabric I knew it would be perfect for a modern take on the puff quilt. It was so easy to just choose two pieces of fabric knowing the color gradient would work perfectly blending light to dark across the quilt. You can check out my blog post DIY Ombre Puff Quilt to see how it came together beautifully using these fabrics!.

The newly released Ombre Fairy Dust collection has a little extra sparkle with silver stars scattered across the fabric. It adds an extra element of fun and interest as you cut the fabric and arrange the blocks. The color selection is wonderful as it slowly fades from dark to light. I created some delightful tote bags with these fabrics, check out my blog post DIY Ombre Totes.

As my interest in Ombré fabrics grew, I found so many quilt patterns that would work great using any of the Ombré fabrics offered by Cotton Cuts.

Here are some free patterns for you as you get started sewing with these fun fabrics!
