WELCOME TO THE ROSA LOGO CHALLENGE

At Cotton Cuts, we love our logo, Rosa. Rosa was born 4 years ago and has been the center of everything we do at Cotton Cuts. Kim knew that no two quilters are the same and wanted to ensure that the logo reflected all quilters - be it stripes, solids or swirls. We made the logo into an applique pattern and have released it here for download. But we wanted to see how Rosa inspires you! Enter the Challenge!

How does the challenge work?

Our challenge will run from July 30 - August 27th, 2020 and is open to anyone, any age/skill level and worldwide! Projects can be made using any fabrics - solids, prints, scraps - all goes for this challenge!

CATEGORIES:

Since the Rosa pattern is a wall hanging (approx 28x28), we are only gong to use one category for this challenge:

1. Single Item Category - This category will constitute ANY single item, utilizing the Rosa applique pattern. This can be a quilt, an accessory or anything that Rosa inspires you to make. Feel free to adjust colors, prints or color order, but please keep the main intent of the logo intact - different shapes of fabric equally spaced around a center, surrounded by stitching border to hold it all together.

HOW TO ENTER:

In order to be entered to win, take a picture of your project, tag us (#rosachallenge2020) across Instagram or on our posts on Facebook. Please also email a picture of your project to help@cottoncuts.com.

You are free to enter as many items as you like using as Rosa derivations as you would like. You are free to tag us in the photo itself but please make sure to use our hashtag (#Rosachallenge2020) with it!

WHAT DO I WIN?

For this challenge, the grand prize winner will receive a 12 month membership to any Cotton Cuts product. They get their choice - 12 months of the same membership (Classic, Chroma, Java, etc) or they can mix and match. Make every month different, flip back and forth - they get to decide! They could even pick a mystery and add two months of another membership. Infinitely flexible!

We will also have two runner up prizes winners that will each receive a $50 gift card to use as they wish at Cotton Cuts.

JUDGES:

You! You (and everyone else) will be given the chance to vote for your favorite project! Voting will all be completed online, in a virtual format. One entry per email address - tell all of your friends. Easy as that!

Q: Where do I get the pattern for Rosa?

There are two ways to obtain the Rosa pattern. The most fun way is the follow the Rosa clues on the “Who is Rosa?” page on this website. After answering all 4 puzzles, you’ll receive the pattern for free. Or, you can purchase a digital copy of the pattern in our shop by visiting our shop HERE.

Q: How much of the logo do I need to use in my project?

A: We don’t ask for a certain percentage of your project to be the logo, however we just ask that you maintain the overall intent of the logo - 9 winged units radially around the center with a stitched border.

Q: Do you have any tips for my photograph?

A: Well lit photos usually do better - so if you can find a sunny spot, snap your photo there. Indirect sunlight is better than direct sunlight (try to find a shade spot on a bright day). Trim all the loose threads. Try to get a photo of your project front on - people like to be able to see all your fabric choices, accuracy and print designs in all their glory and sometimes angled shots hide that.  We don’t edit your photos. We submit them to the form and website just as they’re sent to us so please make sure you’ve provided a photo as big as you can of your project. It will help people see all your amazing work. Please ensure the file you send us is just the photo - additional graphics can limit how much of your project is seen in the form. Additionally, please only send one photo - the one that you would like featured.
