Heather Briggs, the quilt pattern designer of My Sew Quilty Life is known for her unique floral quilt designs. She is inspired by nature and other floral crafts and techniques such as embroidery, applique, and punch needle. She is also inspired by antique quilts and has become a collector of all floral vintage quilts. Heather describes her style as soft, sweet, romantic, and traditional with a modern touch. She prides herself on achieving an applique look in her quilts while using traditional machine piecing methods.
Before starting her pattern company in October 2020, Heather was a healthcare Architectural Designer in Kansas City. Heather uses her training to design and develop beautiful one of a kind quilts and detailed patterns. She describes the similarities between architecture and quilting and uses much of what she learned in her past career to build her successful quilt pattern business.
Heather’s quilt designs have been featured in several popular quilting magazines, and her most memorable memory was having her quilt, Christmas Garland featured on the cover of the October 2022 American Patchwork & Quilting Magazine. When she is not quilting you can find her rummaging through antique shops and flea markets looking for fun knick-knacks and quilts, or at the baseball fields with her husband and son.
